In short: most Dacor faults are an oven element, sensor, latch or cooling fan, a burner that clicks or will not light, or, on refrigerators, a fan, defrost, water or sealed-system fault. Dacor began as a Southern California company and has been part of Samsung since 2016, so the age of your unit decides which parts and codes apply. We are an independent service, not affiliated with Dacor or Samsung.
The Dacor lines we service
Dacor has changed its model families several times, and each family has its own controls, codes and parts. The model and serial numbers are the first thing we ask for on the phone.
- Ranges. ER dual fuel and all-gas ranges from 30 to 60 inches, the 48-inch HDPR48 professional range, the DOP Pro ranges with a steam oven, and older Classic and Distinctive ranges. See Dacor range repair.
- Wall ovens. Classic, Discovery, Renaissance and Distinctive single and double ovens, and the newer touchscreen models. See Dacor wall oven repair.
- Cooktops and rangetops. Gas cooktops such as the SGM and SGG families and electric glass tops. Their burners, valves and spark parts work like the range tops. See cooktop repair.
- Refrigerators. Built-in 36, 42 and 48 inch models with stainless or custom panels, 36-inch freestanding models, and the newer French door and panel-ready built-ins. See Dacor refrigerator repair.
- Dishwashers, warming drawers and microwaves. The 24 and 30 inch dishwashers from the Classic and Millennia years to the later models, and the warming drawers and built-in microwaves sold alongside them.
On the older Dacor serial format, the first letter is the product (V for a wall oven, F, J or K for a range, D for a dishwasher), the second is the revision, and the numbers that follow give the year and week of manufacture. Since late 2002 the year has two digits. That tells us the age without a receipt.

Most Dacor repairs are parts that wear with heat, grease, water and years of use. Roughly in order of how often they fail:
Cooling fans and overheated controls
Dacor ovens shut down to protect their electronics when the cooling fan slows or the door is open during broil, often with C23 or C33 on the display. The causes and owner checks are on Dacor wall oven repair.
Burners that click or will not light
Most no-light and clicking burners are wet or misaligned parts after cleaning; the rest are igniters, spark modules or valve switches. Any gas fitting we loosen is leak-tested before we leave. See Dacor range repair and cooktop repair.
Oven elements and sensors
What it usually is: Dacor hides the bake element under the oven floor on many models, behind a glass panel on the ER ranges and in a pan reached from the back on the Renaissance wall ovens. A failed element leaves bake slow while broil still works. A sensor that reads wrong puts the oven off temperature, and a clogged convection filter makes convection uneven.
What you can check: which modes heat, how far an oven thermometer reads from the set temperature, and the convection filter on the back wall, which you can wash and dry.
What we do: measure elements, relays and the sensor, and set the oven's temperature offset if needed.
Self-clean latches
A door that stays locked or a self-clean that will not start is often the meat probe or, on some models, the other oven in use; the rest is the latch motor or its switches. Never force a locked door. Model details are on the wall oven and range pages.
Controls, keypads and touchscreens
What it usually is: a keypad membrane that reads a key as pressed, a touch panel the control cannot see, or a board fault. On the Samsung-era Pro ranges, the touchscreen, its lift motor and the boards that talk to it add their own faults.
What you can check: the owner checks for a frozen or locked control are on Dacor wall oven repair.
Refrigerators: cooling, defrost and water
What it usually is: the first 42 and 48 inch built-ins run a variable-speed compressor through its own controller, with FoodSaver drawers that have their own fan, heater and damper. Across the line, the common faults are a dusty condenser, fan motors, a defrost heater or sensor that lets frost build on the freezer wall, an air damper stuck open or shut, and water valves. Dispensers only work with a filter or the bypass plug in place.
What you can check: the power switch or on/off pad on the 42 and 48 inch built-ins, Sabbath mode, the water shutoff, and the filter. Doors that sit uneven on a 42 or 48 usually mean the cabinet needs leveling, since the case follows the floor.
What we do: test fans, sensors, damper and compressor drive, and do sealed-system work in-house. See built-in refrigerator repair and sealed-system repair.
Dishwashers
What it usually is: a drain pump, an inlet valve, the heater or the door latch. On the Millennia models, LO, CF, CL, PF and HO on the display are messages (rinse aid low, clean the filters, close the door, power failure, waiting for hot water), not faults.
What you can check: clean the filters, clear the air gap at the sink, use rinse aid, and run the kitchen tap hot before a cycle, since the dishwasher expects water of at least 120°F.
What we do: test the pumps, valve, heater and latch. See luxury dishwasher repair.
Error codes and displays
Dacor has used several code systems. Classic ovens and ranges show F and one digit. ER dual fuel ranges usually show a general code such as F1 or F9 first, followed by a more specific two-digit one, such as F10 or F90. Discovery, Renaissance, Distinctive and HDPR48 ovens use C for the control and U or L for the upper and lower oven, so U30 and L30 are the same sensor fault in different cavities. The Samsung-era Pro ranges show C- followed by a number or letters, such as C-20 or C-d1. Many Dacor refrigerators keep their fault data in a service menu that we read on site.
How we work on Dacor in a finished kitchen
- In place where possible. Range burners and spark parts are reached from the top, oven parts from inside the cavity, and wall oven controls by sliding the oven a few inches forward.
- Out of the opening only when needed. A hidden bake element, a cooling fan or a regulator can mean sliding a range forward or taking a wall oven out of the wall. We take the doors off first, protect the floor and cabinet edges, and tell you before we do it.
- Measurements before parts. Stored codes, element and sensor readings, fan and board checks. We order parts from the readings, not from a guess.
- Lead times stated up front. Common parts are on the van. Dacor parts come from distributors or the manufacturer, usually in a few business days, and we say so before you decide.
- Sealed-system work in-house. We are EPA-certified for refrigerant work and do compressor, evaporator and leak repairs on Dacor refrigerators ourselves.

Dacor repair: questions
Are you a Dacor factory service center?
No. We are an independent service, not affiliated with Dacor or Samsung. If your appliance is still under Dacor's own warranty, contact Dacor first; once it is out of warranty, we can help.
Does it matter that Samsung owns Dacor now?
For the repair, mostly in the parts and electronics. Models designed after 2016 use Samsung boards and codes, older ones Dacor's own. Both are served through distributors, and we check by model and serial.
How old a Dacor do you repair?
Any age we can still find parts for. Elements, sensors, igniters, fans and latches stay available a long time; some older boards, touch panels and gas conversion kits do not, and we check before you commit.
Where is the model and serial number on my Dacor?
On refrigerators, the data label is inside the fresh-food section, on newer built-ins on the door jamb. On ovens and ranges, check the frame around the oven opening with the door open, or your installation papers. A photo of the label is the fastest way to start.
How much does a Dacor repair cost?
The $79 service call is applied to the repair. Igniters, sensors and elements sit at the low end of the ranges above, control boards and sealed-system work at the top.
Do you repair Dacor refrigerators?
Yes, built-in, freestanding and French door models, their ice makers and dispensers. We are EPA-certified for refrigerant work and do compressor, evaporator and leak repairs ourselves.
What should I do if I smell gas near my Dacor range or cooktop?
Leave the house without touching switches or lighting anything, and call the gas company or 911 from outside. Once it is safe, we repair the cause on the appliance side and leak-test our work.
